Downtown Salisbury Festival Returns June 7-9, 2019
Salisbury, MD: The Downtown Salisbury Festival returns this June 7-9, 2019, complete with carnival rides, live music, great food, and local vendors – presented by Toyota and Pohanka of Salisbury Automotive. This year the action will take place along Main Street, Market Street and the Riverwalk, with the Paul Reed Smith Band kicking off Friday night. From funnel cakes, to oyster fritters – there will be something for everyone at the Downtown Salisbury Festival this June.
The Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District is again teaming up with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce to bring a carnival to Downtown Salisbury. This year the carnival will be located right on Riverwalk, directly across from the amphitheater. Tickets can be purchased Friday – Sunday, with ride-all-day wristbands available Sunday only.
“We are excited about this year’s footprint” says Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District’s executive director Jamie Heater. Heater states “the newly constructed Pohanka Riverwalk Amphitheater will add a new dynamic to our performance options, and we are very excited about having the rides along Riverwalk – more room for more rides!” This year’s festival will be hosted along Main Street and Market Street east of Division Street. Parking Lot One, Parking Lot Ten and the Parking Garage will be open and accessible for parking.
The Salisbury Festival was originally called the Dogwood Festival back in the 1980’s, and was continued as The Salisbury Festival by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce for 32 years before retiring the concept in 2015.
“We are so excited to continue the long-running tradition of Downtown Salisbury Festival in the heart of our city - We look forward to seeing you Downtown!” said Mayor Jake Day.
The festival will take place on Friday June 7th, Saturday June 8th and Sunday June 9th, 2019. For more information on the festival, or to register to be sponsor, vendor or volunteer, please visit www.downtownsalisburyfestival.com.
