Salisbury, MD: July 19, 2019 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. 3rd Friday will be held outdoors -weather permitting -with artists and crafters filling the streets and live music on the Plaza. This month coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Lunar Landing so this month’s theme is Moon Walk!

3rd Friday will experiment with a new footprint again this month, as construction progresses. Artists and crafters will still gather on the Plaza – but the rest of the fun is moving down to Lot 15 and W. Market Street, in front of The Acorn Market and Angello’s Unique Gifts. There you will find special activities, the Bookmobile, a Moon bounce, food trucks and more.

This month also coincides with 3rd Friday’s 10th Anniversary, so stop by for a slice of our giant space-themed cake, and sign our anniversary card down in Lot 15! Contestants can compete in Moon Walk competition at 6:00 p.m. in Lot 15 – with the winner receiving a signed Erick Sahler 10-color silkscreen print commemorating the lunar landing! Salisbury Police Department will also be on site with huge giveaways in promotion on National Night Out - coming August 6th to Salisbury's City Park -with ten bikes to give away - plus frisbees, glowballs, bracelets and more.

For more space themed fun, check out a free screening of First Man, a movie about the life of Neil Armstrong starring Ryan Gosling in the Wicomico County Public Library’s Entrepreneurship Center on the lower level at 5:00 p.m, complete with free popcorn. The movie is free to the public, and is rated PG-13. In Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center you can “Meet-A-Meteorite” – a real life space rock after it crashed landed to Earth- and make a Moon and Stars Mobile craft for kids. Plus, Barefoot Baby Boutique is calling all kids dressed as your favorite astronaut, or with a space toy to come get free astronaut space ice cream while supplies last.

On the Plaza, there will be live music from the Josh Pryor Trio, also known as JP3. At 5:30, The City of Salisbury will present a proclamation to 3rd Friday founders, board members and volunteers in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The Salisbury Jaycees will be on the Plaza pouring beer and wine and check out St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Courtyard for family-friendly prices on burgers and dogs fresh off the grill.
